The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) is proud to announce that Michaël Harvey, head coach of the Cégep Champlain St. Lawrence Lions, has been named the 2025 CCAA Golf Coach of the Year. In only his second season leading the Lions, Harvey has built a program that reflects his own core values of discipline, organization, and dedication. Under his leadership, the St. Lawrence men’s team posted an impressive 5–0 record during the regular season and provincial championship play, demonstrating exceptional consistency and mental toughness.
“Coach Harvey has built an outstanding program in a very short time, one that emphasizes not only athletic excellence but also academic success and personal growth,” said CCAA Golf Convenor Bob Murray. Harvey oversees a comprehensive program that includes more than 30 student-athletes across competitive and recreational groups. His responsibilities extend beyond coaching, encompassing annual planning, recruitment, and coordination of external resources such as physical training, mental preparation, nutrition, and equipment partnerships. His holistic approach ensures that every athlete has the tools to reach their full potential. A full-time coach, Harvey’s commitment to player growth extends far beyond the collegiate season. He also leads a high school golf program, organizes summer camps, and provides year-round training opportunities, both locally and in the United States. His focus on technical, tactical, and personal development has resulted in several athletes progressing to the university level, with more expected to follow in the years ahead. Harvey’s leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to his athletes have been instrumental in elevating the Lions’ golf program to new heights, establishing a strong foundation for continued success within the RSEQ and at the national level. CCAA Coach of the Year recipients receive a customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the CCAA's Official Award Ring Supplier. Other nominees for the CCAA Golf Coach of the Year award were Kevin Corriveau, St-Clair College and Tyler Leicht, NAIT. |

Beyond competitive results, Harvey has placed a strong emphasis on academic achievement and athlete development. Recognizing that golf is a fall sport, he has implemented initiatives to keep his student-athletes engaged and motivated throughout the winter semester. His efforts have paid off; his players remain active and focused year-round, both in the classroom and on the course.
