Kevin Corriveau, St. Clair College's long-time golf head coach and the 2023 CCAA Coach of the Year, played a pivotal role in guiding Team Canada to a silver medal finish at the 2024 FISU World University Golf Championships, held in Kuortane-Seinäjoki, Finland, from August 27 to 30. Corriveau, who has led the Saints golf program for 23 years, was part of the Canadian coaching staff alongside Adam Wagner from the University of Windsor and Tara Savoie from the University of Waterloo. The Canadian men's golf team performed outstandingly in the team event, finishing second overall—marking Canada’s best finish at the FISU World University Championships since a tie for third in 2014. On the women’s side, the Canadian team secured a 12th-place finish. Reflecting on his experience, Corriveau shared, "It was an honour and a privilege to represent my country, the PGA of Canada, St. Clair College, and all of Windsor and Essex County in this championship. I am incredibly thankful for the support of the St. Clair College athletic department and academic sector throughout this journey." The competition was held at Ruuhikoskigolf, a course recognized among the top 100 in the Nordic countries, with a history of hosting major tournaments such as the 2019 Finnish Stroke-play Championship and the 2006 European Men's Senior Team Championship. |
