Kevin Corriveau Named CCAA Coach of the Year for the Second Time

Kevin Corriveau, the long-time head coach of St. Clair College’s golf program, has been named the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Golf Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year. This honour, coming off his recognition in 2023, reflects Corriveau’s continued success and influence in collegiate golf.

This year, Corriveau led the St. Clair Saints golf teams to further success. The men’s team won its first-ever gold medal at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Championships, a historic achievement for the program. The Saints earned a silver medal on the women's side, continuing their strong tradition under Corriveau’s guidance.

His focus on course management, short-game fundamentals, and team unity has been a cornerstone of his coaching philosophy, allowing his athletes to consistently excel both regionally and nationally. 

"As a multiple winner of this award, Coach Corriveau's yearly dedication and passion for collegiate golf is evident both on and off the course. He has coached the Saints men's and women's teams to success this year and grown the sport collegiately in his conference and on the national scene,” added CCAA Golf Convenor Bob Murray.

Corriveau’s latest accolade follows a stellar year, including his role in helping Team Canada achieve a silver medal finish at the 2024 FISU World University Golf Championships in Finland—the nation's best result since 2014. His leadership and strategic approach were key to the Canadian men’s team’s performance, marking a milestone in Canada’s international golf history. 

Beyond coaching, Corriveau remains heavily involved in golf development, volunteering at local junior camps and clinics, and recently becoming certified as a Golf Ontario Referee. His contributions extend beyond the college, with involvement in the sport nationally and internationally.  

St. Clair College’s Athletic Director, Jay Shewfelt, praised Corriveau's dedication: “Kevin is an outstanding coach but an even better person. His influence on the program and the broader community is unmatched. He continues to strive for success both on and off the course.”
