CCAA Torchbearer Scholarship presented by Hudl launching with 2021-22 Season
The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Torchbearer Scholarship presented by Hudl is a collaboration that recognizes student-athletes who have contributed to the betterment of their community.
The goal of the program is to identify civic leaders within the CCAA and provide them with financial support while recognizing and encouraging their endeavours.
Beginning with the 2021-22 season, the CCAA and Hudl will select six recipients based on their extra-curricular initiatives in their communities. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their personal and professional development.
“The CCAA is interested in engaging with our partners in new and exciting ways and Hudl has demonstrated a willingness to explore those options with us,” said Joel Mrak, CCAA Vice President of Marketing. “The CCAA has a long history of honouring elite athletic and academic achievements, and with this contribution from Hudl, the Association will be able to recognize student-athletes for their accomplishments beyond the classroom and field of play.”
Hudl is the Official Video Analysis and Exchange Partner of the CCAA and as such provides teams with the best video and statistical analysis resources in the industry. The relationship between the partners has continuously evolved and the Torchbearer Scholarship was seen as the next progression in Hudl’s support for the CCAA’s programs and stakeholders.
“Our mission at Hudl is to help teams and athletes compete with confidence, and we know that starts in the classroom,” said Greg Nelson, Vice President, Hudl. “It’s our privilege to help jumpstart the careers of student-athletes no matter whether it’s on or off the field through this scholarship program.”
The opportunity to apply for the CCAA Torchbearer Scholarship Presented by Hudl will open in September with an online submission procedure. The application window will remain open for approximately four months, followed by the selection process and eventual announcements in April of 2022. Further details regarding eligibility, timelines and announcements will be made available on the CCAA website and circulated to CCAA members for sharing with student-athletes.
The CCAA enriches the academic experiences of student-athletes by providing leadership, programs and services that foster development through high-level competitive opportunities in intercollegiate sport.
