CCAA Women’s Volleyball Nationals Open with Quarterfinal Action in Niverville.

The 2026 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Volleyball National Championship opened in front of an energetic crowd in southern Manitoba. Hosted by Providence University College, the championship is taking place at the Niverville Community Resource and Recreation Centre in Niverville, MB, bringing together the top collegiate programs from across Canada to compete for a national title. | Match 1 – Quarterfinal #1: VIU Mariners 3, Assiniboine College Cougars 1 The opening quarterfinal at the CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship saw the Vancouver Island University (VIU) Mariners defeat the Assiniboine Cougars in four sets (20-25, 25-19, 25-9, 25-22). After dropping the opening set, VIU responded with strong offensive pressure and disciplined defence to take control of the match, highlighted by a dominant third set.
The Mariners were led offensively by CCAA All-Canadian outside hitter Grace Brisebois, who recorded 15 kills, five service aces, and six digs in an all-around performance. Setter Edan Wade efficiently ran the offence, finishing with 31 assists.
Third-year libero Jordy Exner anchored the Mariners’ defence and passing game, collecting 18 digs to earn the VIU Player of the Game honours.
The Cougars were led by Payton McNish, who recorded eight kills and seven digs to earn the ACC Player of the Game award. Setter Tyra Lasuik contributed 22 assists, while Jordyn Bradbury added 15 digs in a strong defensive effort.
Assiniboine College will move to the bronze quarterfinal on Thursday at 12 p.m., while VIU advances to the national semifinal scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m.

| Match 2 – Quarterfinal #2: Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit 3, Augustana Vikings 2 The second quarterfinal of the CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship featured a thrilling comeback as the Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat the Augustana Vikings in five sets (18-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-19, 15-11). After Augustana controlled the opening two sets with strong offensive play, the Lynx responded with renewed energy, tightening their defence and generating key service pressure to turn the momentum and complete the reverse sweep.
Dalia Boissinot was named the Lynx Player of the Game after recording nine kills, a match-high five service aces, and six digs. Sophia Tatasciore led the Lynx offence with 12 kills, while CCAA All-Canadian setter Marilou Durocher contributed across the court with 21 assists, four kills, and 10 digs.
For the Vikings, outside hitter Hadley Ziemmer earned the Augustana Player of the Game honours with an outstanding all-around performance, leading the match with 14 kills while adding a game-high 20 digs. Taryn Watson also recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs, while setter Phaedra Bruens directed the offence with 31 assists.
The Augustana Vikings will face the Assiniboine College Cougars in the bronze quarterfinal on Thursday at 12 p.m. The Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit advance to the national semifinal where they will meet the Vancouver Island University Mariners on Thursday at 6 p.m.

| Match 3 – Quarterfinal #3: Lakeland College Rustlers 3, Providence University College Pilots 0 In front of an energetic home crowd, the Lakeland College Rustlers defeated the host Providence University College Pilots in straight sets (25-18, 25-15, 25-21). The three-time defending national champions showed their championship pedigree, controlling the match with a balanced attack and steady defence to advance to the semifinals.
Rustlers setter Katelyn Mazurkewich was named the Lakeland Player of the Game, directing a powerful offence with 38 assists while adding three digs. Outside hitter Avery Bates led Lakeland offensively with 15 kills, while Olivia DeDecker anchored the defence with a match-high 10 digs.
For the Pilots, Tyra Peters earned the Providence Player of the Game honours after leading the team with 12 kills. Sydney Turenne and Taylor Campbell each recorded six digs to lead Providence defensively.
Providence University College will compete in the bronze quarterfinal on Thursday at 2 p.m., while the Lakeland College Rustlers advance to the national semifinal scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m.

| Match 4 – Quarterfinal #4: Humber Hawks 3, Mount Allison Mounties 1
The final match of the evening at the CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship saw the Humber Hawks defeat the Mount Allison Mounties in four sets (22-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-23). After dropping the opening set, the Hawks responded with strong offensive execution and defensive consistency to claim the next three sets and secure their place in the semifinals.
Keyome Ellis was named the Humber Player of the Game after recording 11 kills, two service aces, and two blocks, making her presence felt throughout the match. All-Canadian Hannah Manners led the Hawks offensively with 16 kills, while Reese Cholette anchored the defence with a team-high 16 digs. Setter Kaley Rawlick directed the offence effectively, finishing with 48 assists in a strong all-around team performance.
For the Mounties, Mya Artibello earned the Mount Allison Player of the Game honours after leading the team with 13 kills and three service aces while adding six digs. Chloe Palmer had a solid defensive outing with 16 digs, while setter Ana McCain recorded 25 assists.
The Humber Hawks will face the Lakeland College Rustlers in the national semifinal on Thursday at 8 p.m. Mount Allison will meet host Providence University College in the bronze quarterfinal scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m.
