TKU has demonstrated remarkable consistency, finishing the season ranked No. 1 in the CCAA. Eagles athletes have captured multiple medals across all disciplines throughout three league tournaments. Among the standout athletes on his 2024-25 roster is first-year player Melissa Roque, who represented Canada on the international stage. Roque won bronze in mixed doubles at the Pan American Championship and competed in the 2024 World Junior Championships. His coaching philosophy emphasizes fairness, teamwork, and personal growth, ensuring that every athlete feels valued and supported, whether an elite competitor or a beginner. His dedication to recruiting top talent and organizing exhibition trips to destinations such as British Columbia, California, Nevada, Florida, and Hawaii has provided invaluable experience for his athletes. "Coach Haque is one of the most passionate advocates for badminton in the CCAA. He has built a strong program that is quickly developing into a national contender, known for both academic excellence and championship-level athletes," commented Bob Murray, CCAA VP Marketing. His contributions to the sport and his commitment to player development have built a lasting badminton legacy at The King’s University.
